the most up-to-date technology for their
dental care. The financial benefits have
been such a positive, some of our best
years came during the hardest economic
times we all recently faced.
what is your favorite
cerec procedure?
I truly enjoy the single units and quad-
rant cases the most. CEREC has taken
all of the unknowns of using a lab out of
the picture. I control every aspect of the
final restoration. The cases where we
use both CEREC and my XG3D come in
a very close second. Being able to provide
restorative-driven implant placement is
such an advantage that we all have over
practices without this technology. The
days I do not get to use my CEREC are not
nearly as rewarding as the days I do.
what is your most unique
cerec procedure?
I actually fit an e.max over a fractured
bridge pontic. The patient was elderly,
and one of the two pontics on a five-
unit bridge had fractured. I removed the
remaining porcelain and designed an
overlay that was bonded directly to the
metal sub-structure. That has been in the
patient’s mouthwith no issues since 2009.
if someone was to take your cerec
away today, you would … ?
Be lost. I am trying to think if I even
remember how to take a final impres-
sion! CEREC has become such a large
part of my practice that if it was gone,
my patients would probably walk away.
And I would probably follow them out
the door.
