is no longer the case. The CEREC may be the “how” of doing treat-
ment; but the “why” — that’s different. One needs to learn how to
set up the case, why different strategies may be needed and why a
specialist (or specialists) might be needed to provide treatment for

after coming back from cerec 30 in las vegas, one might ask: “what’s happened, what’s new?”
Certainly, everyone is aware of the merger of Dentsply and Sirona. I was having lunch with my wife when the news broke.
I never have had my phone blow up with so many texts before. It will definitely be interesting to watch how it all plays out.

The Dentsply-Sirona news wasn’t the only item getting talked
about though. The new CEREC 4.4 software was also rolled out,
and anyone can see it definitely isn’t the same. From customizable
features to better milling features, it will prove to be a great benefit
in treating patients. And, of course, Drs. Puri and Skramstad have
already created more than 100 videos to get doctors up and
running once they receive the software.
And, speaking of what the software can do, make sure you read
Dr. Boltchi’s article in this issue. He shows how CEREC Guide 2
improves the CEREC Guide process, enabling precise, in-house
milling of surgical guides with the CEREC technology. Now that’s
definitely an improvement — not the same guide as before!
