temporary can also be compressed and
used in computer-aided fabrication of
the framework. With CEREC or a labo-
ratory partner that uses an inLab system
from Sirona Dental Systems, the practice
can also access a comprehensive range of
materials for treating a variety of indica-
tions. Ceramics are not the only mate-
rial available in this respect. CAD/CAM
fabrication is also provided for VITA
CAD-Waxx acrylic models for pressing
or casting, which burn out without
leaving any residue, or for the fabrication
of NE restorations. In this way, the ideal
solution can be found to suit any clinical
situation and to meet any budget.
SUMMARY
When it comes to esthetics, a superior
quality, long-term temporary should be
considered indispensable, particularly
in the anterior area.
The fabrication of long-term tempo-
raries using VITA CAD-Temp is gener-
ally of particular relevance in the
following cases: while extractionwounds
and implant restorations are healing; for
improvement of gingival contours where
these are less than ideal (Figs. 15-16); for
developing a possible esthetic solution in
the case of anterior restorations; as well
as in cases where the immediate fabrica-
tion of a temporary is required.
