2014
dr. john pasicznyk purchased his
first practice in 2013.
After strug-
gling to find his identity in dentistry
and make his mark on his new office, he
attended the Accept program in Scotts-
dale, Ariz. Not only did he sign the papers
on a new CEREC system the first day, he
is now part of the Mentor Group, helping
others get as “jazzed up” about the tech-
nology and possibilities as he does.
howlonghaveyoubeeninpractice?
I graduated from Indiana University in
2010, and worked for six months at the
Indianapolis VA hospital. I was an asso-
ciate doctor in rural Indiana for almost
three years, and purchased my first
practice in May 2013.
In June 2014, I acquired a second prac-
tice in Bloomington, Ind. I have a full-
time associate doctor in that office, and I
provide specialty services suchas implant
placement, root canals and complex oral
surgeries there.
whatisthesizeofyourpractice?
I have a team of five. Stephanie is my
office manager and task master. Jill and
Misty are my expanded-duties assis-
tants that handle everything clinical I
can throw at them. They have learned
quite a bit about oral surgery, implants,
endo and CEREC since my arrival at the
office.MarceandYolandaaremyhygien-
ists. They are in the office a combined
five days, Monday to Thursday.
howmanyoperatoriesdoyouhave?
We have six ops that are all equipped
with A-dec units. I typically work out of
two ops, with hygiene in one op except
Wednesday, which is our
double-hygiene day. Since
we have so much space and
rarely are running all six

Finding an Identity Through the cerecdoctors.com Community
convenience. I immediately saw how
well-received CEREC was in my office,
and realized my patient base appreciates
how I utilize technology to make their
lives better. Within a month of getting
CEREC, I went forward with an XG3D
installation so I couldhave the total digital
package. As much as the patients love
CEREC procedures, they are blown away
even more by 3-D imaging. I have figured
out how to build my practice around the
technology available, while still providing
a homey, comfortable feel tomy practice.
howdoescerecimpactyourpractice
andtherestofyourlife?
I plan on using Northview Dental as a
template for my other offices moving
forward. Obviously, you cannot just drop
off a CEREC and ConeBeam and expect
things to go flawlessly; you need to have
a doctor and staff that are on board with
the technology in order for it to work.
One of the great things about cerec-
doctors.com is I have seen the power
of CEREC and ConeBeam in a variety
of practice environments. What I have
found is that it works no matter what
type of demographics you have, whether
you are surrounded by dentists or are the
only doc in town, it works if you have the
right team in place.
My wife, Meghan, has been very
supportive of me during my journey with
CEREC. I came home frommy ACCEPT
trip, andwas like, SURPRISE, guess what
I bought? She was a little skeptical, but
was still supportive. Themore significant
issue is the time commitment involved
with this technology. Multiple trips to
Scottsdale for workshops, hours of indi-
vidual learning, constantly glued to the
message board, and now adding in the
responsibilities as a mentor, speaking
chairs, I am lucky enough to have a dedi-
cated surgery op for implant placement
and extractions. We also use it as a quiet
room for sedation patients or children
with behavior issues. It has a door so the
patient can have a quiet environment.
whattypeofdentistrydoyoudo?
Everything. I am one of those general
dentists who loves all areas of dentistry.
My bread and butter is crown and bridge
work, but we routinely have endo and
oral surgery on the schedule. We have
recently started placing implants in the
office, and the response from the patient
base has been amazing. They are thrilled
to receive this service in-office. I enjoy
CEREC and implant surgery the most.
whywascerecyourcad/camchoice?
For me, it was a no-brainer. I got into the
gameinNovember2013,soOmniwasavail-
able, e.maxabutmentswere just aroundthe
corner and bridges were possible. I knew
the limitations of the other equipment, and
I knew with Sirona’s track record, there
would be so many new enhancements; it
wouldn’tmake sense togoelsewhere. I also
knew with the cerecdoctors.com commu-
nity, I would have more support than
anyone else could possibly offerme.
howdoesthistechnology
fitintoyourofficephilosophy?
This technology definedmy office philos-
ophy when I was desperately searching
for one. I was five months post-practice
purchase, and grasping for an identity.
The previous dentist did not have a clear
philosophy, other than having a gorgeous
office out of
Town & Country
magazine.
Once I was introduced to CEREC, I
instantly realized how it embodied every-
thing I stand for: cutting-edge technology,
continual self-improvement and patient
