surgical capabilities. The 3-D cone beam
allows everything to be integrated into
one workflow. It’s exciting to see the
technology develop and be able to use it
for diagnosis and treatment.

Paul: Our philosophy is to provide the
best possible care in a friendly, comfort-
able environment. We always strive to
be on the forefront of technology, and
CEREC has helped us achieve that goal.

Aaron: CEREC
is
our practice now. This
technology has changed the way we prac-
tice. It has impacted the way we schedule
… everything. Blowing your work up
on a computer screen is very humbling.
CEREChas allowed us to bemore conser-
vative while beingmore effective.
Paul: I think we’ve forgotten how to
do temporaries. I do preps more slowly
than I did five years ago. If you give it a
bad prep, you get bad restoration, if you
give it a good prep, you get a good resto-
ration; GIGO: garbage in/garbage out. I
basically get to play video games at work
every day. Patients are so excited about
getting restorations completed in one
visit; it has even changed their perspec-
tives on going to the dentist.
Aaron: I enjoy having complete control
over restorations from start to finish.
This allows me to better meet individual
needs, make alterations or modifications
when needed with virtually no lab bill.

Paul: Implant abutments and crowns.
That is just cool! Before, you had to
send them off which drastically reduced
turnaround time. Meso blocks allow us
to do the abutments in the office.
Aaron: I honestly like all of them. I’d
say the most exciting aspect is the ability
to truly plan implants from the restora-
tion down.

procedure?
Paul: I had a patient come in with a dark
crown. #7was grayedout at the gumline. I
removed the crown and the old root canal
had turned the root black. Imade a coping
out of an Impulse block 1V1 that masked
out the black, then made a new crown to
go over, and all the gray was gone. The
patient was ecstatic, I was able to signifi-
cantly improve her smile and it was fun to
figure that out. I got to beMacGyver.
Aaron: I feel like I’m cheating, having
a mentor right there in house. In my
limited experience with CEREC over
that last six months, one of the more
unique procedures I did was on an indi-
vidual who had fractured a root canaled
mandibular anterior near the gingiva.
I was able to lightly prep the fractured
Paul (

): I found
out a long time ago
that I wanted to be
around dentists who
are as excited about
dentistry as I am.
Of all the groups I’ve
been a part of, the
cerecdoctors.com
group is the most
amazing.
Aaron (

Every time I seat
a restoration,
it fits perfectly, like a
puzzle piece. It’s like
you’re cheating.
