This young girl had her two
front teeth fractured in an accident when
she was 16. Her parents had a dentist do
“porcelain” crowns for $2,700. Problem
is, they are composite and not worth one-
third of that, even if they were porcelain.
She now is onher own andwanted them
to look natural. I used Empress Multi BL3
and Biogeneric Individual with “grid tool.”
I overbuilt the gingival and polished back
after bonding. I used white stain to help
match (could have used a little more). For
anteriors, I like to add any customizations
and then lightly apply spray glaze and
finish off with the polishing. This allows
me to better control anatomy and a natural
texture to the surface. Facial contour of #9
is a little off at the gingival one-third. All
in all, I was really pleased and so was she
(Figs. 1-7).
Immediate post-op (Figs. 8-9).
The post-op was taken four days later.
I should have had her come back later to
allow the tissue and the papilla between
#8 and #9 to heal (Figs. 10-11).

Grant, really nice. The only thing I could beef
about is that you took a post-op with some irri-
tated gingiva. Take another shot in two weeks and I bet no
one could tell which teeth had been worked on. Great job,
great service. Were the linguals already prepped?
