strength designed to enhance fixation assurance, take sutures or
tacks with ease for simple yet secure fixation, resorbs predictably
over three to four months, and allows for flexibility as it can be
easily repositioned for precise placement.
StraumannMembranePlus
TM
is a resorbable, crosslinkedbarrier
designed to provide soft tissue support and space maintenance for
multiple indications. Its slow and predictable resorption over six
months makes it ideal for larger procedures that need more time
to heal. Easy to handle and easy to place, it’s reinforcement that
can provide more time for graft stabilization and bone growth.
Straumann XenoGraft, methodically processed from bovine
bone for excellent biocompatibility and an optimal balance of
calcium and phosphate,
is a natural substitute
that has many charac-
teristics comparable to
human bone. Low crystal-
linity offers a favorable
surface for new bone,
while
high
porosity
supports osteoconduction.
A slower resorption rate
provides extended volume
maintenance.
Straumann AlloGraft delivers strong structural support, rapid
bone regeneration, and volume preservation. It is designed to
be most similar to a patient’s own bone because it’s 100 percent
derived from donor bone provided by a world-leading tissue bank.
Doctors can count on this consistently reliable graft material to
give repairs a strong start.
Straumann BoneCeramic, an alloplastic bone substitute, is
biocompatible and homogenous, engineered to support restora-
tion and preservation of bone volume. As it gradually resorbs, it is
replaced by new, vital bone. The excellent handling characteristics
and consistent quality make it a dependable performer.
The Straumann bone regeneration materials offer predict-
able remodeling and resorption, with a range of products to
meet specific clinical indications and clinician preferences. It’s a
comprehensive approach to treatment options for oral rehabilita-
tion — all from one provider.
Lastly, Straumann Bone Block Fixation is used to stabilize and
fixate bone grafts and bone filling materials for the regeneration
of bone in the oral cavity. The bone grafting fixation technique is
designed to allow for the placement of dental implants in previ-
ously unsuitable sites.
WHY DO YOU FEEL IT’S IMPORTANT TO USE COMPONENTS
FROM THE SAME MANUFACTURER?
The difference is obvious. Original Straumann components
deliver the time-tested performance and reliability that you can
build your dental business around. Compatible isn’t original.
We developed the exact dimensions, tolerances and materials of
Straumann implants and their corresponding prosthetic compo-
nents. No other company has access to Straumann’s precise design
and engineering specifications, nor can they optimally recreate
the harmonized Straumann implant-abutment connection.
When you use an original Straumann component, the benefits
include minimization of peak stresses with conical screw head,
precise guidance at assembly with radial contact surfaces (screw
and abutment), a sealed connection due to conical implant-abut-
ment interface and stability from the deep implant-abutment
engagement.
HOW IS STRAUMANN INVOLVED IN THE CEREC COMMUNITY?
Straumann is very excited to be working so closely with the
CEREC doctors. We are active in the four CEREC seminars held
in Scottsdale, Ariz., with presence at all Level 3 and Level 6 work-
shops — some of which include hands-on guided surgery demon-
strations. 2016 promises to be an even more active year, with the
inclusion of Variobase for CEREC in various workshops, along
with Dr. Boltchi’s participation in presenting Straumann Guided
Surgery. We also plan to support the 2016 Mentor Meeting.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE VARIOBASE FOR CEREC?
We recognized the needs of clinicians, and are focusing on the
importance of giving CEREC dentists access to original prosthetic
components with warranty coverage for implant and abutment.
cerecdoctors.com was instrumental in supporting us in the devel-
opment of this product. The insight gained and feedback received
from doctors through Spear was invaluable. They demand accu-
rate, rapid and cost-effective restorations for tooth- and implant-
borne solutions, and the development of Variobase for CEREC
addressed this need. This provides doctors with an authentic
connection for their CEREC workflow.
The optimized emergence profile of the Straumann Bone Level
Variobase for CEREC features a concave collar design, resulting
in easier cleaning procedures compared to convex collar design
TiBase options. There is no change to the existing workflow.
As with all Straumann products, the cornerstone of the abut-
ment is the original Straumann implant-abutment connection.
The perfectly matching components are supported via scien-
tifically proven, long-term clinical evidence that distinguishes
