software. A CEREC Guide 2 was virtually designed in the CEREC
Chairside software 4.4, and the corresponding CEREC Guide 2
was milled out of a CEREC Guide Bloc Maxi PMMA block in the
CERECMCXL milling unit (Figs. 5-6).
The surgical procedure was performed under local anesthesia
and intravenous conscious sedation. The fractured tooth #9 was
extracted with the Easy X-Trac system, and the residual socket
was thoroughly debrided. The presence of an intact buccal bone
plate was clinically verified (Figs. 7-8).
The CEREC Guide 2 was then utilized with the corresponding
Straumann Bone Level Tapered surgical drills and customized drill
stops (Verban Drill Stops) to prepare the guided implant osteotomy
according to the virtual treatment plan in the Galileos Implant soft-
ware (Figs. 9-11). A Straumann 4.1 mm x 14 mm SLActive Roxolid
Bone Level Tapered implant was placed through the CERECGuide
2 in a fully guided fashion in the restoratively correct and pre-
planned position, achieving excellent primary stability (Figs. 12-14).
In order to maintain the peri-implant gingival architecture, and
