spatula, brush, microbrush, cleaner and
glaze. The bond between the stains and
the restoration is obtained by polym-
erization; the stains are simply applied
on the surface and light cured. The
ratio of liquid to stain powder may be
altered by the user to adjust the color
intensity. A selective as well as a flowing
application of the stains is possible. The
chemical glazing VITA Enamic GLAZE
is used to seal the surface and achieve a
higher durability and brilliance of the
shades in the oral environment. Five
steps are required for characterization:
conditioning of the restoration surface;
mixing and application of the stains;
polymerization; application of the
chemical glaze and; final light-curing.

STAINED ANTERIOR CROWN
The presented examples
should not create the impres-
sion that VITAEnamic is only
suited for theposterior region
(Fig. 23). The esthetic poten-
tial of the hybrid material
even allows for demanding
restorations in the anterior
region — no matter if crowns
or veneers are desired. Basi-
cally, the restorations arewell
integrated into the remaining natural
dentition and offer highly natural colors
and photoconductivity.
Figure 24 shows the initial situation of a
case in which a VITA Enamic crown was
planned in region 12 (tooth #7). Due to

After digitization of the preparation
(Figs. 27-28), a digital copy of the natural
tooth was created by virtual design (Fig.

CEREC system. As expected, an accurate
