one of his caseswithus. Onpage 20, not onlydoes
he present a fully digital workflow on an imme-
diate implant placement, the guide is fabricated
chairside and the provisional restoration is also
donewith the same chairside software. Using the
now available CEREC Guide 2, implants can be
placed in a restoratively correct and preplanned
position that insures excellent stability.
So, as you can tell, we are not telling old
boring stories. Our tips and tricks nowadays are
about creating anterior restorations, not about
powdering. We are exploring different mate-
rials for one-visit chairside restorations with
the latest in software and hardware technolo-
gies. We are not only talking about positioning of restorations, but
now wondering if we have and can improve on bone support for
implants.
Yes, these are far from boring stories about past glory days. In
fact, with apologies to John Roark, these ARE exciting times! And
cerecdoctors.commagazine is glad to share themwith you. Enjoy!

it’s hard to believe we are going into our ninth year of cerecdoctors.com magazine.
Nine years ago, the latest
innovation in CEREC was CEREC Connect. We were talking about e.max having evolved into an LT block and designed in
CEREC 3.03 Software. Tips and tricks of powdering were given. I began to use a phrase that our copy editor, John Roark, even-
tually banned me from over-using – “These are exciting times!”

Glory Days
“…Well time slips away, and leaves you with nothing, mister,
but boring stories of glory days …”
— Bruce Springsteen
Well, those were glory days. But we don’t sit
around at courses and workshops telling boring
stories of those times. Much has happened
and much continues to happen in this world of
digital dentistry.
Sirona is now Dentsply Sirona. And they
continue to innovate. Not only with technology,
as witnessed by new clinical processes like one-
visit chairside zirconia restorations, expanding
the uses of 3-D imaging, creating integrated
treatment centers, etc. But also by planning
what is being hailed as “the ultimate dental
meeting” — SiroWorld. This August gathering
in Orlando will showcase the advances in all
aspects of dentistry. Nothing boring there.
There are some good stories that come out of the CEREC
ACCEPT programs. In this issue, we talk to cerecdoctors.com
Mentor Dr. Mitchell Kim about his experience. He mentions that
prior to the ACCEPT program he attended, dentistry was not fun;
he was going through the motions. Now with the CEREC tech-
nology in his office, he has a clearer vision of what he wants for his
practice. Dr. Kim is no longer bored with his dental career!
In every issue, we are fortunate to have Dr. Farhad Boltchi share
