admit that continuing to practice dentistry without it would be
extremely difficult. It’s so vital to my dental practice as a whole
that I would more than likely consider a new career altogether.
WHAT HAS CEREC TAUGHT YOU ABOUT DENTISTRY?
CEREC has taught me countless aspects pertaining to dentistry.
One thing that CEREC has reinforced is the value of being a part
of the professional dental community. As most already know, the
industry of dentistry is unique professional, and unlike any other.
Being a part of both the dental and CEREC communities has done
nothing but secure and strengthen my positive perspective of the
profession. Dentistry and CEREC are both way bigger than just
me, and the benefits I reap by being a part of such a phenomenal,
service-based, prestigious profession truthfully overwhelm me
and cause me to consider myself one blessed guy.
WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO OTHER CEREC USERS?
For all CEREC users, although I could go on for a time sharing much
more (hencewhy CERECACCEPT is such a great fit and opportunity
for me), I propose just two bits of advice. The first —andwhat I would
consider initiallymost beneficial—is to get the training. The education
andhands-onexperimentationare essential to truly craftingyour tech-
niquewithCEREC.It’sthesamewithanynewroleorresponsibilityany
individual assumes inanyarea, career or industry: professional training
best prepares the individual to transition more successfully. Training
also allows users to takemorepreventivemeasures inavoiding or over-
coming possible obstacles that lay ahead. CEREC training provides
the same. It provides the opportunity for doctors to explore, increase
in knowledge, make inquiries, foresee challenges and fine-tune skills.
As dentists, we should always desire to give our patients and team our
absolute best. Training helps to facilitate exactly that. Our team and
patients shouldnot expect anything less, either.
Second, as Imentionedpreviouslybut havenoconcernwithstating
again, being a part of the communityCERECprovides is a great asset.
Nothing compares to the network available to you. It’s an environ-
ment where you can bounce ideas off of other CEREC users, build
lasting professional friendships and obtain a host of other benefits.
WHAT WAS YOUR CEREC “LIGHT BULB” MOMENT? WHEN DID THINGS
SUDDENLY MAKE SENSE?
My CEREC “light bulb” moment had to be in 2010 during CEREC
25. A fine group of avid CEREC doctors provided me with advice
and testimony, which in turn directed me to create a strategic
game plan to integrate CEREC into my practice. I was so thankful
that the doctors were candid and beyond helpful in assisting me
with the plan and transition.
Apart ofmy initial hesitancywith introducingCEREC intomyprac-
tice was knowing what a game-changer it was going to be for Eaglin
Dental Group as a whole. However, linking with the CEREC doctors
over that weekend really cleared upmy misconceptions and easedmy
mindwhen I realized that, although it would be quite a change for my
practice, itwas certainly one totallyworth investing into.
WHAT WAS THE MOST USEFUL PIECE OF CEREC ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
I was strongly encouraged to invest in continued CEREC training
at the Spear Campus. Of course, the initial training I received
when I first became a CEREC user set me on the right course
in providing my patients with optimum CEREC technology
treatment. However, it doesn’t stop there! With the innova-
tion of CEREC and with it being technology-based, it is literally
constantly evolving, and new updates, new procedures and new
applications are being introduced continually.
For me personally to keep up with the advancements CEREC
unveils regularly, taking continued training at the Spear Campus is
what keepsme up-to-date. It also allowsme to bring the new ideas I
acquireback tomy teamtobetter equip themtobetter serve, support
and treat our patients through using the CEREC technology.
IF YOU WENT THROUGH AN ACCEPT PROGRAM, HOW DID THAT INFLUENCE
YOUR DECISION?
Interestingly, I did not go through the ACCEPT program prior
to investing in CEREC. However, I have been an active mentor
in this program for years, assisting with training and educating
the doctors who go through the program. I thoroughly enjoy this
aspect of CEREC and am passionate about my mentor role.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT THE ACCEPT PROGRAM?
I can only answer this fromamentor point of view and by recalling
the feedback from the ACCEPT mentees. The one-on-one
training and educating experience is a valuable and best practice
of the ACCEPT program. I personally get inspired when I witness
ACCEPT mentee doctors progressing in their use of CEREC. I
enjoying seeing their “light bulbs” illuminate!
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE CONSIDERING ATTENDING AN ACCEPT
PROGRAM?
I would completely encourage anyone considering ACCEPT to
invest in theweekend-long program. Iwould sharewith the doctors
the benefit of the hands-on-experience that allows them to see how
it will productively impact their practice. I would go on to mention
the unique, one-on-one mentorship with colleagues and the oppor-
tunity they would have to brainstorm a plan on how to effectively
implement the CEREC into their practice.
The ACCEPT program is the prime time for them to pose the
hard (or easy) questions for clarification as well as hear the testimo-
nies of mentors like myself who have been personally and profes-
sionally blessed by deciding to invest in CEREC technology.
